This year, for the Hever Castle & Gardens summer jousting, tudor and medieval events we decided to create a campaign that would work across all three and tie them all together as one. The encompassing campaign was to be rolled out both internally through posters, banners, leaflets etc as well as local press and social.

We developed a simple, contemporary geometric illustration style that was inspired by original tapestry and the famous Hever Castle book of hours illustrations. Rather than producing stereotypical ‘oldy-worldy’ imagery to promote such events we wanted to showcase them with stand out, and by balancing the two styles were able to find something unique, but flexible and uniform across all three events. We then housed the illustrations in the the Hever Castle poster lock-up, which we created for the brand guidelines. The three together as a triptych created one continuous scene.

There’s a lot of fun to be had at Hever Castle & Gardens this summer and our aim was to put together a campaign that not only promoted it but mirrored it – the scenes conveying the fun events that include dressing up as Tudors and Knights, authentic jousting tournaments, stalls and the opportunity to learn more about Medieval and Tudor times and much, much more.
