Ecovia UX & website design
Nature, naturally built into architecture
Giving architects more than a window into Ecovia.
Ecovia specialises in bespoke architectural glazing, high-performance windows and doors for ambitious residential and commercial projects. The brand strategy had already established a clear ambition – move Ecovia away from the conventions of the glazing industry and position it alongside the architects and designers it works with. The website needed to make that ambition tangible.
Our brief was to translate the new brand identity into a digital experience that could inspire architects while giving them the technical detail needed to confidently specify Ecovia products. That meant balancing two very different requirements. The first was creating something beautiful enough to sit comfortably within the world of architecture and design, the second was to make a complex portfolio of products, materials, specifications and expertise significantly easier to explore.
Heartbeat
Architects don’t simply need to know whether a window performs. They need to understand how it could become part of their building. That principle shaped the experience. Projects and architectural photography play a much bigger role, allowing visitors to see Ecovia’s timber and glazing systems within real spaces rather than treating them as isolated products. Product information sits alongside materials, colour options and technical resources, while dedicated content around working with architects, timber and Ecovia’s approach brings the company’s knowledge much further forward. The original strategy described inspiration as a way of demonstrating expertise and reassuring architects that Ecovia ‘knows its stuff’, and that thinking became fundamental to the site.
We also designed the experience around the reality that no Ecovia project is simply off the shelf. The new website moves naturally between inspiration and specification, helping users explore products, understand performance, compare possibilities and eventually start a conversation about their own project. That reflects how Ecovia works in practice: collaborating with project teams from early specification through to final selection rather than simply supplying windows and doors.
Impact
The new website gives Ecovia a digital presence that better matches the architecture it contributes to. It presents the business as a specialist architectural partner, showcases the quality of its completed work and gives architects, builders and property owners much clearer routes into its products and expertise. Projects provide the inspiration, detailed product content supports specification and an expanding resource centre gives Ecovia a platform to share its considerable technical knowledge.
Behind the experience, we created a flexible WordPress platform using a modular approach to content, giving the Ecovia team greater freedom to publish projects, products, technical guidance and editorial content as the business grows.
The result takes an existing brand strategy and gives it somewhere to work hard: positioning Ecovia firmly within the architectural conversation while making its expertise considerably easier to see, understand and specify.
